2025 awards tracker: From Demi Moore to Wicked and Anora, see who's winning (and losing) in the Oscars race so far

Who are the top contenders for the 2025 Oscars? Well, given the status of the current awards race (and recent Oscar nominations), the answer is half of Hollywood.

With so many awards shows and prestigious film festivals announcing their lists of annual honorees and nominees, Entertainment Weekly's seasonal awards tracker includes a report card for each film, actor, and actress who's winning — and losing — accolades on the trail so far.

Best Actress is one of the most contentious races in recent memory, with industry titans vying for Oscars glory at the same time, including Cynthia Erivo (Wicked) and first-time nominee (yet longtime icon) Demi Moore (The Substance) — both of whom have stacked report cards alongside Mikey Madison (Anora), and Fernanda Torres (I'm Still Here). And, after a social media controversy, will Karla Sofía Gascón's (Emilia Pérez) accolades (including a history-making Oscar nomination) be for naught on Oscars night?

On the other side of the aisle, the Best Actor race is also heated, with Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown) hitting high notes and Ralph Fiennes prepping for a potential holy haul in the awards race for his performance in Conclave, while The Brutalist's Adrien Brody has enjoyed a golden comeback on the awards scene so far, following a victory at the Golden Globes. Colman Domingo also pulled off a rare feat by scoring back-to-back Oscar nods in Best Actor after previously appearing in the category for Rustin — this time thanks to his acclaimed work in Sing Sing.

The supporting categories have also proven to be an unpredictable gauntlet, with Zoë Saldaña (Emilia Pérez) and Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain) emerging as the contenders to beat, with Ariana Grande (Wicked), Isabella Rossellini (Conclave), Yura Borisov (Anora), and Edward Norton (A Complete Unknown) hot on their tail.
