Revenge is best served with a twist.

So proclaims the first teaser trailer for Another Simple Favor, the hotly anticipated sequel to director Paul Feig's delicious 2018 thriller, A Simple Favor.

The trailer features mommy vlogger-turned-private investigator Stephanie (Anna Kendrick), whose book signing for The Faceless Blonde (presumably about her experiences in the first film) is interrupted by the arrival of Emily (Blake Lively), newly sprung from jail.

While Stephanie questions whether Emily broke out of prison, Emily leans into the mic and invites Stephanie to be her maid of honor.

Stephanie presumably agrees, getting the full VIP treatment, including a private jet trip and a sporty boat ride to Capri, the location of Emily's wedding. But she still questions why she's even there. "Do you think I invited you to get revenge for stealing my life and taking my kid away from me?" Emily asks, toying with her.

We also get glimpses of Emily's lavish wedding, including a ceremony with stunning floral archways on a cliffside, her wedding gown with a red-soaked skirt edge that looks sickeningly like blood, and a toast at an extravagant meal.

Stephanie takes in the sights of Capri on a Vespa, but we also see a body being carried out of the hotel, a woman screaming, and Stephanie witnessing an explosion from behind a stone wall.

"I called the first movie Suburban Noir," Feig previously teased to Entertainment Weekly. "It was a mystery happening in broad daylight. Anybody can do a movie where it's dark and scary, but if it's broad daylight and you're going, 'Oh my God, what's happening?' That's really fun. So, [I loved] the idea of doing something that has a lot of twists and turns in the most beautiful setting where everything's colorful and beautiful and bright and sunny. It's a place where you go, 'Well, nothing bad could ever happen here' — and lots of bad things happen."
