Rising star in horror Osgood Perkins has scared lot of people. Next on the list? Jeff Bezos.

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to reps for Perkins and Amazon.
The comment comes in the wake of a historic shift in the custody of the 007 franchise. Last month, longtime Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the daughter of original Bond producer Albert "Cubby" Broccoli, ceded creative control and the intellectual property rights of the franchise to Amazon MGM Studios, a subsidiary of Bezos' mega-corporation Amazon.
"My life has been dedicated to maintaining and building upon the extraordinary legacy that was handed to Michael and me by our father, producer Cubby Broccoli," Barbara wrote at the time, noting that she worked over the years with four different actors who have portrayed the international man of mystery.

The last film released in the Bond franchise was 2021's No Time To Die, which starred Daniel Craig in his fifth and final appearance in the lead role. True Detective's Cary Joji Fukunaga directed the film, but since Craig's departure and the recent shake-up in proprietorship, no new Bond or Bond director has yet been announced. Perkins had not been previously indicated as a potential candidate.

Perkins made his directorial debut in 2015 with the atmospheric chiller The Blackcoat's Daughter, and has somberly, steadily marched ahead, releasing a string of blood-curdling horror films, including I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, Longlegs, and The Monkey, a Stephen King adaptation that Perkins described to EW as "like Robert Zemeckis on ecstasy."
There has been rampant speculation over who will land the role of the next James Bond, and opinions on the matter range from former Bond girl Ana de Armas suggesting there's "no need for a female Bond," to former 007 Pierce Brosnan saying he doesn't care who's next. But there's been comparatively little chatter over who will helm the next entry in the sexagenarian franchise. Today, we know one name that definitely isn't on that long list.
