The cast of Wicked looked absolutely magical on the red carpet before the Oscars.
As the stars filtered into the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in L.A. on Sunday, Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jeff Goldblum, and Michelle Yeoh stunned. The movie was nominated for 10 awards at the ceremony, including Best Picture and acting nods for both Erivo and Grande. The cast all looked like winners.

Win or lose, Erivo was set to take the stage with Grande for a special performance. In addition to her dramatic gown, the movie's Elphaba flashed an impressive manicure with shades of gold and green and details such as a clock — thanks to her manicurist Mycah Dior — and a gown from Louis Vuitton. She brought down the house early in a different dress, as the two performed a medley of songs from Wizard of Oz and their movie, including the signature tune "Defying Gravity" at the top of the show.

Grande chose to wear an ethereal gown, with some sparkle, of course, from Schiaparelli. But she didn't wear it long, as she changed out of it before her show-opening rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" that kicked off her and Erivo's performance.

Wearing floral embellishments on his suit, Goldblum took a moment to rave about Erivo and Grande. "You know, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are just unbelievable and fantastic," he told ABC's On the Red Carpet. "The incomparable Jon M. Chu made a fantastic movie."
SNL's Bowen Yang, who also stars in Wicked, similarly incorporated florals into his Oscars look with a black blazer embroidered with a colorful design.

A month before the ceremony, Yeoh also complimented Chu on his film during her appearance on The View, when she described her interaction with Erivo and Grande after their nominations were announced. Although Wicked was nominated in several Oscars categories, Chu did not receive a directing nod.
"We are all crying for joy," said Yeoh. "But, we must say we are also crying because Jon M. Chu, Alice Brooks — our DP — were not nominated, but the rest of us are celebrating. Best Picture, costumes, hair!"
